Dear Parents,
May Day was a beautiful event and we were very proud of our kindergarteners. They did a wonderful job during the May Day celebration and looked so cute! Performing in front of such a large audience can be intimidating, but they handled the situation well. It was a very fun day and I am excited to be part of such a loving and supportive community. I’d like to give a BIG mahalo to Miss Jasmine for putting together this year’s May Day performances. Thank you to Mr. Todd for his musical guidance. We are fortunate to have such a great Hawaiiana and Music program at our school.
In the past, some students chose to skip a snack. However, since we started our new lunch schedule today, and students won’t eat lunch until 11:55, I would like everyone to eat a snack daily. Please put your child’s snack in his/her backpack, not the lunch box.
This week we will be going on our last fieldtrip to the Hawaii Theater for Youth to watch the play Ferdinand & The Bull. Junior Kindergarten will be joining us. Tomorrow the students will listen to the story of Ferdinand & The Bull, to help them prepare and fully understand the play. As with all fieldtrips, shoes are required and we will wear our Memory shirts. Please separately pack a healthy snack and lunch. Names should be on snack and lunch.
Thank you to Spencer DeLauro & Nani Tomich who donated books to our class from the Book Fair. We always appreciate new books.
We are still waiting for the rest of the Flat Stanley’s. Please return them ASAP.
If your child’s birthday is in May, June or July, you are invited to donate a book or nature object to the classroom. If your child wants to bring in a healthy snack or treat such as pencils, erasers, stickers, etc., for our celebration, please write me a note ASAP. Due to the sensitivity of kindergarteners, we can ONLY distribute birthday invitations if the entire class is invited. Our birthday celebrations will be at our picnic tables at 1:50pm.
